MIHOW Mission- To stimulate the birth and growth of locally generated, low cost, parent-to-parent interventions that improve health and child development for low-income families.

The maternal Infant Health Outreach Worker project aims to reach mothers with children under the age of three in Leflore County through strength based home visitation interventions that improve health and child development for low-income families. The goals to accomplish this are:

  1. Continuing to provide support to clients via delivery of the Vanderbilt University Center for Health Services (CHS), MIHOW curriculum of benchmarks and standards for providing quality strength based prenatal services.
  1. Engage the participation of more community stakeholders in addressing the health and socioeconomic needs of clients.
  1. Earn Vanderbilt Center for Health Services Maternal Infant Health Outreach Worker (MIHOW) accreditation.
